Over and over again there are stories of IT funds being wasted. Unfortunately not all of us have got the funds to waste on expensive projects which go nowhere. Lots of small business and non-profit organisations have to carry out their business with little funding and as efficiently as possible.
Everyone has a different story but all too often IT comes under pressure; partly due to its complexity and often because the equipment is treated as an appliance without an appreciation of the importance of the data. Making the decisions about what to do and when on a limited budget can be hard and there is little guidance on how to make an informed decision.
